The Football Match

One evening Daddy came home from work at eight o’ clock. I was not in bed because I was watching the X-Factor with my family.
I ran over to Daddy and gave him a hug .He  put his hand into his pocket and pulled out three tickets for a football match. They were for Ireland against Spain in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
I was very excited. I told mammy the good news. She was excited as well.
I watched the Saturday night Show. I was watching Match of The Day.
I couldn’t go to sleep because I was so excited.
The day finally came.
I was jumping around the house. I suddenly stopped jumping around the house and started to pack up for the soccer match.
I put on my Ireland jersey ,took my Ireland flag and Ireland scarf and jumper in case it started to rain during the match.
When I was finished packing I helped mammy and daddy to pack their clothes because we were going to a hotel in Dublin after the match.
We put our bags into the boot of the car.
We went to Castleblayney to get diesel for the car. Then we set off for the Aviva stadium.
The roars from the crowd were wonderful as we got our seats in the stadium.
I was very excited because it was my first soccer match I was ever at.
Ireland came out of their changing rooms.
I was waving my flag and cheering .Mammy and daddy were waving their flags too and cheering as well.
Spain came out of their changing rooms.
Lots of people were screaming . Shay given was the goalkeeper for Ireland. Robby Keane was the striker.
Ireland took the kick off. Spain and Ireland had lots of chances.
The mid-field player passed it up to Robby Keane and he scored a wonderful goal.
I was cheering and waving my flag.
Lots of other people were doing the same.
All the Ireland players were running around the soccer pitch celebrating.
Spain took their kick-off. The mid-fielder took a strike and it hit the post. The Spanish striker vollied the ball and scored a beautiful goal.
The score was 1-1.Ireland took their kick-off and passed the ball around the soccer pitch.
The forward passed the ball to Robby Keane and his shot hit the post  and went wide.
The Spanish goal keeper kicked the ball to the mid-fielders.
The referee blew the whistle for half-time.
I was cheering and waving my flag.
Daddy gave me money to buy a drink and a bar because I was very hungry and very thirsty.
Spain and Ireland came out of their changing rooms.
Lots of people were screaming, cheering and waving flags.
Spain took their kick-off .They passed the ball to the forwards .They took a strike but Shay Given saved it and it went wide.
Spain had a corner .The ball came into a box. Luckily the ball went too high over the goals.
The goalkeeper  kicked the ball into the mid-fielders. The mid-fielders passed the ball to Robby and he scored a wonderful goal for Ireland. The fans were celebrating.
Lots of people were cheering ,screaming and waving flags.
Spain ran up the field but the linesman saw that the Spanish player was offside so he put up his yellow and orange flag.
It was a free-kick for Ireland. Shay Given took the free-kick.
He kicked it up to the forwards. Robby scored a beautiful goal.
They  ran around the soccer pitch .All the fans were waving flags and cheering. Spain scored a nice goal.
The Spanish fans were waving their flags and cheering. Ireland kicked the ball to their backs. Then the backs kicked the ball over to their forwards and they shot and it hit the post and went wide. The goalkeeper kicked the ball over to the mid-field players and they passed the ball to the Ireland’s forwards. Ireland almost scored another goal and it went into the back of the net.
I was very happy and all the other people were happy too.
The referee blew his whistle. The Ireland players were very happy.

Santa Is Coming

It was the week before Christmas Eve. Michaela and I were putting up our Christmas decorations. First we put up our crib. Next we put up our Christmas tree.
We put up lots of decorations.
The last thing we put up was the star on the Christmas tree. It was really high and Michaela could not reach. I got hold of Michaela and lifted her up into the air.
She got hold of the star and she put it on the top of the tree.
Suddenly the tree began to wobble. In the blink of an eye the tree fell on the ground. There was a huge bang. Baubles rolled all over the floor. We put back up the tree and decorated it again. When we were finished we went to look for the star .It was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly I heard something .It was the star. It was falling down the curtain. I ran over to the curtains and I caught the star. “This time I think we should get the ladder”
I ran into the store room and I got a ladder. I brought it back to the living room. I climbed up onto the ladder and I put the star on the top of the tree .I climbed back down the ladder.
Finally we were finished decorating the house.
It was very late so both if us decided to go straight to bed.
Finally the day came. We were waiting and waiting for this day to come.
It was Christmas Eve.
We hopped out of bed. We went and got dressed. Next we had our breakfast.
After breakfast we both looked out the window .It was snowing.
“This is going to be the best Christmas ever”, I said.
I went and made some things for Santa.
When night came we both put on nice clothes because we were going to midnight mass.
Later on we went to mass.
When we came home it was very late. We went upstairs and got ready for bed. We went into our bedroom and we fell asleep.
At twelve o Clock Santa could be seen flying high in the sky.
He suddenly landed on Michaela’s and Emer’s roof.
There was a huge thump. I woke up. I tried to  get back to sleep but I could not get back to sleep.
I was feeling scared. I did not want to see Santa because I knew he would be angry and I knew I would not get any presents.
Santa got a bike and a flicker out of his sack. He walked over to the chimney. He put down the toys and put his two feet into the chimney. He tried to get down the chimney but he could not budge.
He climbed out of the chimney .Suddenly he took off his big black gloves and waved his hands. He said a spell.
In the blink of an eye he turned into a pencil. He got the toys and he jumped down the chimney.
When he got down the chimney he said a spell. He was back to the size he was.
He crept into our sitting room and went over to the Christmas tree. He left Michaela’s presents on her side of the tree. He put my presents on my side of the tree.
Santa crept upstairs. He went over to Michaela’s room. I kept my eyes closed as hard as I could. Santa came out of Michaela’s room. He crept into my bedroom. He walked over to my bed. Santa whispered my name. I did not open my eyes. He whispered my name again. This time I opened my eyes. I was speechless. He told me it was alright.
He laughed and laughed .I joined in.
I jumped out of bed. Santa handed me a red cloak. He told me to put it on. I put it on because I knew I should do everything he told me to do. He told me that I was going to be helping him deliver presents.
My sister was going to help too.I ran over to her and woke her.
“Come quick,” I said.
She got out of bed and came with me. Santa handed her a red cloak.
She nearly fainted when she saw Santa. We all went down the stairs.
Santa got all of us together and he made us tiny. We all climbed up the chimney.
Santa said a spell and we were back to the size that we were.
We got onto the sleigh and we flew off.
We went to lots and lots of houses .All the children were sound asleep.
We got to put the presents under the tree. We got to drink milk.
We got to eat lots and lots of cookies.
Sometimes when there were carrots we would bring them to the reindeer.
There were lots and lots of presents to be delivered.
Finally we got round all of the houses. We got back home eventually.
Santa brought us to our bedroom.
We handed him the cloaks but he told us to keep them.
He said goodbye and headed away.
“That turned out to be the best Christmas ever,” I said.
Later on we fell fast asleep
